Amazon wants to help you sleep better with its new sensor-packed device to analyze your sleep.

The e-merchant presented its new hardware this Wednesday, September 28 and started with a brand new unexpected device.

Amazon launches connected alarm clock

Halo Rise is an alarm clock, to put on your bedside table to get you out of bed once it’s time to get up.

The brand has opted for a rather sober and quite elegant design, with its metal base and a white surface. An LED display on the end of this zone allows you to wake up with light diffused gradually over several minutes. The top area is touch sensitive to turn off the alarm clock or snooze for a few minutes if you need more time to emerge.

A device designed to understand your sleep and help you sleep better

Halo Rise is of course not just a simple alarm clock, and Amazon has integrated many sensors to make it a device focused on health and on the analysis of your data.

It uses a light, temperature and humidity sensor to analyze your sleep throughout the night. The device can also track your breathing and the movements you make during the night to understand, using artificial intelligence, your different sleep cycles.

Once morning arrives, your stats are available both on the dedicated app and on your Alexa connected screen if you have one at home. Analytics is optional and can be disabled in device settings to maximize your privacy.

Halo Rise also pairs with Alexa to use a song as an alarm clock each morning, or to start a routine set in the voice assistant. Halo Rise will for example be able to understand when you go to bed and turn off the lights in the house or close the shutters automatically.

Halo Rise will initially be available in the United States before the end of the year at a price of $139.99, with a six-month subscription to Halo, a new health program offered by Amazon to help its users lead a healthier life. No information regarding a European release was given during the presentation.
