Wakfu’s single-account Ogrest servers were the game’s big event for 2023. However, their arrival was not so smooth, with a number of crashes and side bugs heavily impacting progression. Today is the time for retrospective and, above all, for compensation.
Wakfu: Booster and compensation after single-account problems
The opening of single-account servers was done in two stages and yet, this was not enough to handle the load of players. Early access, for 2 days, caused a lot of problems, even preventing some from accessing single-account Wakfu before F2P players. The bugs were numerous: Impossible access, duplicate MAC addresses, heavy latencies, sleight of hand… A fourth server, Ogrest 3, appeared to spread out the many characters a little more.
On November 2, it was the turn of the full opening. Major maintenance took place from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., bringing a lot of fixes and a new Ogrest 5 server. As a reminder, all servers will merge at a later date. In all cases, after this maintenance, access to the different servers became less painful.
A week later, the servers still seem to be holding up. In order to be forgiven for the first slowdowns in the rush, Ankama is providing fairly exceptional compensation for their quantity. An exclusive attitude is even added to the list of objects that will be recovered:
- Attitude Manifest (there is a certain sense of humor)
- 7 days of Booster
- Zinit Haven Bag Kit
- Finisher Ogrest
- 5 Harvest Potions (increases the amount of resources harvested by 50% for 120 minutes)
- 2 Loot Potions and 2 Experience Potions
- Early access only : 10 Loot Potions, 10 Experience Potions
These compensations will come into play sometime next week. The Wakfu team will take the opportunity to inject the rewards from the various preparation crash tests. In hindsight, they at least made it possible to avoid the worst, such as a postponement of the release of the servers.
