Guest of the Tonight Show, Norman Reedus commented on the departure of Melissa McBride from the spin-off of the series “Walking Dead”, supposed to bring together the characters of Daryl and Carol.

It will therefore have been necessary to wait a few days for Norman Reedus to react to the departure of Melissa McBride from their spin-off project. Last week, we learned that the interpreter of Carol will not finally appear in the series derived from Walking Dead, whose filming will soon take place in Europe.

Targeted by hate messages written by “fans” holding him responsible for the situation, Norman Reedus thus justified this decision by the desire of the American actress to take a break, after having interpreted the role for twelve years (Daryl and Carol are the only two Walking Dead characters to appear in all eleven seasons of the show).

Turning during these twelve years required a lot of work, and she wanted to take time for herself, so that’s what she’s going to do. I imagine these characters will reunite at some point, and maybe that reunion will even include other characters. But while she’s taking this break, I’ve been asked “Hey, do you want to go on a mission?” and I was up for it.

Still untitled, the spin-off on Daryl will be broadcast in 2023. Two other series walking dead will see the light of day next year: Isle of the Dead, with Maggie and Negan, as well as Tales of the Walking Dead, an anthology featuring characters from the past but also newcomers to the franchise.
