Actor Andrew Lincoln celebrates his 49th birthday this Wednesday. The opportunity to come back to the biggest role of his career, and to check if you are unbeatable on the deputy sheriff Rick Grimes, main character of the series The Walking Dead.
Andrew Lincoln, who is celebrating his 49th birthday today, was born in 1973 in London to an English father and a South African mother. It was while attending the Beechen Cliff School that he took his very first steps as an actor, playing a character from the novel “Oliver Twist” by Charles Dickens.
Encouraged by several of his teachers, he then left to study at the drama school of the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. It was in 1995, then aged 22, that he had his first major role in the BBC series La Vie en face, which depicts the adventures of a group of young graduates, ready to get started in the business world.
He then continues by playing in several other TV series, and also appears in a few feature films such as Human Traffic or Gangster N°1. But it was in 2003 that the actor will gain popularity by interpreting Max in the romantic comedy Love Actually, a young man in love with the wife of his best friend, played by Keira Knightley (we remember the famous scene of the signs).
We have also been able to see her in French productions: in 2006, in Comme t’y est belle! alongside Michèle Laroque, or even as the future husband of Vanessa Paradis in L’Arnacoeur. But it was in 2010 that his career would experience a major turning point when he landed the lead role in The Walking Dead series, adapted from the eponymous comic book, in which he played the role of Deputy Sheriff Rick Grimes.
Before having to leave the series during the ninth season for scheduling issues, the actor and his character will have experienced many twists and turns in the face of the hordes of the living dead, and the many enemies who may have crossed their path during all these years.
