New York (awp/afp) – The New York Stock Exchange ended sharply lower on Friday, ending another dark week a breath away from its lowest levels of the year, driven by angst over a recession caused by the sharp monetary tightening underway.
The Dow Jones established a new low for the year in session, before rebounding slightly and ending down 1.62%. As for the Nasdaq index, it lost 1.80%, while the broader S&P 500 index dropped 1.72%.
