New York (awp/afp) – The New York Stock Exchange ended lower on Friday, at its lowest level in two months, spooked by the FedEx earnings warning and the prospect of a series of further sharp rate hikes interest rates that cast doubt on the US economy’s ability to land on a soft footing.
The Dow Jones lost 0.45%, the Nasdaq index fell 0.90% and the S&P 500 index dropped 0.72%.
