Wall Street was up slightly at the open on Wednesday, catching its breath after being rattled by comments from the chairman of the US central bank (Fed) suggesting on Tuesday that the institution’s rates could go higher and for longer than planned so far.

The Dow Jones gleaned 0.01%, the Nasdaq took 0.22% and the broader S&P 500 index rose 0.08%.
