The constructor 8BitDo decided to put a little more nostalgia in our keyboards.

The brand will soon market a mechanical keyboard for PC, in the good taste of the 80s: the Retro Keyboard.

NES and Famicom keyboards at 8BitDo

For a few years now, the 8BitDo brand has been marketing game controllers with a (very) strong retrogaming tendency, paying homage to the NES, the Mega Drive, the Super Nintendo and other Game Boy… Recently, the brand has put online a tandem new products, dedicated to the PC world.

With its Retro Keyboard, 8BitDo is aimed at owners of Windows PCs (and Android terminals), who want to add a real dose of nostalgia to their setup. The keyboards are directly inspired by the console of our childhood, namely the Nintendo NES. Keyboards with 87 keys, including programmable (and red) A and B buttons to the right of the space bar.

For Famicom enthusiasts (the Japanese version of the NES), 8BitDo also offers a dedicated version, in the colors of this emblematic machine, which recently celebrated its 40th anniversary. Note that each keyboard also comes with two large buttons B and A (called “Super Buttons”), which can be remapped at will by the user.

On the pricing side, 8BitDo’s new Fami Edition and N Edition keyboards are priced at $99.99 each, with availability scheduled for September 20. Remember that the firm has also been offering a wireless mouse for a long time, also inspired by the NES.
