An ideal opportunity for the Decathlon group, which has had some problems managing personal data, to offer a brand new version of its Outdoor application. The French sports giant promises that its application has already been downloaded nearly 2 million times since its launch in 2022. With this new version, Decathlon intends to coach even more people.
A “new” Outdoor application at Decathlon
To get 2024 off to a good start, Decathlon has therefore carried out a complete overhaul of its Outdoor application. In addition to a new look, the application is now more intuitive, while offering new features to make outdoor outings even more accessible and enjoyable.
“ With Decathlon Outdoor, in just a few minutes, you know where to go. Simply personalize the search filters and choose from more than 40,000 outings on foot, by bike or on snowshoes », Indicates the group.
Better supervised outings, a revised visual identity and Mapbox cartography
The various outings listed are all rated and commented on by a community of more than 200,000 active members, and are validated by a team of experts, including mid-mountain guides.
For Decahtlon, the objective is also to align with the brand’s visual identity, while offering a simplified and much more intuitive experience. The application has benefited from a complete overhaul, in order to reduce bugs and prepare the ground for future features.
For its part, the new Mapbox mapping integrates contour lines and direction announcements are anticipated and above all practical for cyclists. The GPS obviously indicates the position in real time and is responsible for alerting the user in the event of leaving the route.
Decathlon is also responsible for broadcasting personalized messages and inspiring content linked to users’ sporting activities… in order to encourage purchases in its stores.
