Wanted internationally – Two murder suspects arrested in Upper Austria

On Monday, the police in Upper Austria succeeded in arresting two internationally wanted murder suspects in Hohenzell (district of Ried im Innkreis).

The two Indian nationals are strongly suspected of having brutally murdered another Indian citizen along with seven other Indians in the British city of Shrewsbury on August 21, 2023, as the Upper Austria State Criminal Police Office announced on Tuesday morning.Reference to Upper AustriaFive suspects have already been arrested in Great Britain . Four perpetrators were each sentenced to 28 years in prison for murder and one perpetrator was sentenced to ten years in prison for manslaughter. The other four suspects managed to escape, although one suspect was suspected of having a possible Upper Austria connection and the British authorities therefore contacted the target search group of the Upper Austria State Criminal Police Office via Interpol Vienna. The target investigators of the Upper Austria State Criminal Police Office have now managed to find the suspect with a possible Upper Austria connection as well accompanied by him, to identify and investigate another suspect – who was not initially thought to be in Austria. Both suspects were taken to the Ried/Innkreis prison for extradition detention.
