On December 25, 2021, a man armed with a crossbow was arrested at Windsor Castle. He is said to have had the goal of murdering Queen Elizabeth II (96). This was suggested by a video clip that the perpetrator had uploaded to Snapchat shortly before and from “The Sun” has been published. Now the 20-year-old from Southampton was charged on Tuesday (2 August) with as reported by the police.

He was charged with making threats to kill, among other things

“Following an investigation by the Met Police Counter-Terrorism Squad, a man has been charged in an incident in the grounds of Windsor Castle on Christmas Day last year,” the statement said. Among other things, he is accused of threatening to kill and possessing an offensive weapon. The accused is currently in custody and will appear before Westminster Magistrates’ Court in London on August 17.

On Christmas Day 2021, the intruder climbed over the castle wall with a rope ladder. He came about 500 meters from the Queen’s private apartments, but did not enter any building. He was given psychiatric treatment after his arrest. Back then, Queen Elizabeth II celebrated Christmas at Windsor Castle.
