FRANKFURT, June 19 (Reuters) – Russia’s war in Ukraine could last for years, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has told German newspaper Bild am Sonntag.
“We must be prepared for (this conflict) to last for years. We must not relax our efforts and help Ukraine,” said Jens Stoltenberg. “And this even though the costs are significant, and not just providing military support, as energy and food prices rise.”
Jens Stoltenberg, indicated earlier in the week that the allies would continue to supply Ukraine with heavy weapons and long-range systems and that he expected them to agree on a new program of assistance to the country during an Alliance summit scheduled for Madrid on 28, 29 and 30 June.
