Two months after the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, although he had already spoken on the subject last March, actor Benedict Cumberbatch recently declared that he would soon be welcoming a family of Ukrainian refugees.

During the London premiere of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (in theaters next Wednesday), the actor confirmed his commitment to refugees and his desire to help them, explaining that he was preparing to make his personal home available for a family:

“They managed to get out of Ukraine. I monitor their progress every day”he thus declared at the microphone of sky news.

“Unfortunately they need to undergo medical treatment – if I said more about this I would not respect their privacy, and details of their arrival or how this will be handled could harm mine – but I want give them some stability after the upheaval they’ve been through, and it’ll be under my roof.”

Benedict Cumberbatch also said he was helping other Ukrainian families financially to adjust to their arrival on British soil, and expressed his gratitude to his compatriots:

“I urge people to look for extra help to support their efforts, and there’s plenty of it – it makes me very, very proud of our country, very proud of what we can do by giving our best of ourselves as humans.”
