This deliberate choice, which contravenes all the commitments made by the Russian authorities, is a violation of the Charter of the United Nations and of the founding principles of the European and international order. In this test, France stands alongside Ukraine. I want to salute the courage and determination of the Ukrainian President, the authorities and the people. Their freedom is ours,” he said.
Emmanuel Macron has been very active in Europe since the start of military operations. After trying to negotiate, in vain, with Vladimir Putin, he participated in taking strong measures against the Russian economy. He is also in constant dialogue with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. “With President Zelensky, our exchanges are constant. I want to salute his sense of responsibility. At the request of the latter and given the humanitarian situation, I called President Putin,” he wrote on Twitter on February 28. He then added: “To President Putin, I reiterated the request of the international community to end the Russian offensive against Ukraine, and insisted on the need to implement a ceasefire immediately” .
