War in Ukraine: Sean Penn walked to Poland after abandoning his car

He left Ukraine safe and sound. On Twitter, American actor and director Sean Penn wanted to reassure his relatives by announcing that he had left the country after the intensification of Russian strikes on several Ukrainian cities. He is now in Poland.

The director of “Into the Wild” explains that with his two comrades, they walked “miles to the Polish border after having abandoned their car on the side of the road”.

His message is accompanied by a photograph of the actor from behind with his suitcase walking on a paved road.

“Almost all the cars in this photo are carrying women and children only, most without any visible luggage, their vehicle being their only valuable possession.”

The American filmmaker did not want to give more details on the place where he is, nor if he continues the filming of his documentary with the refugees, started last week. Indeed, the actor had met Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in Kiev, and attended a press briefing as the Russian offensive began.
