War in Ukraine: UEFA on the verge of suspending Russia from all its competitions


The European body would have decided to exclude all the Russian teams competing in the European Cups.

UEFA is about to suspend Russia from all its competitions, in response to the Russian attack against Ukraine, according to information on Monday from the German agency SID, a sports subsidiary of AFP. The first team affected would be Spartak Moscow, the last Russian team still in contention in European competitions, which was to play in March its round of 16 Europa League against RB Leipzig.

According to this decision, the Russian women’s selection would also be excluded from the Euro organized in July in Great Britain. She must play in the group of the Netherlands, Sweden and Switzerland.
