War in Ukraine: Vladimir Putin aped as a little soldier by Adolf HItler in a caricature

A few hours after Russia launched a large-scale “military operation” against Ukraine on Thursday, February 24, the Ukrainian government reacted by publishing a caricature of Vladimir Putin, ape as a toy soldier of Adolf Hitler.

A fairly explicit caricature released at 6:18 a.m. this Thursday, February 24 on the official Twitter account of Ukraine, on which we can recognize Adolf Hitler, dictator and founder of Nazism, bending over the one who is none other than the President of Russia , Vladimir Putin, aped as a good little soldier.

Without text or explanation, the drawing was published when Russia had just announced that it had launched a “military operation” in Ukraine to defend the separatists in the east of the country, and to “demilitarize and denazify” its pro-Western neighbor. .

Between the non-respect of the Minsk agreements or the recognition of separatist territories… Certain geopolitical decisions by Vladimir Putin indeed seem dangerously reminiscent of the stratagems deployed by Hitler between 1938 and 1939 with regard to Austria, the Poland and Czechoslovakia.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kouleba confirmed the invasion of his country, announcing the start of a “large-scale invasion” by Russia, and strikes on several cities in the country, after a series of explosions.

“Peaceful Ukrainian towns are being attacked. It is a war of aggression. Ukraine will defend and win. The world can and must stop Putin. It is time to act now,” he warned.

In a statement, the latter assured that the ongoing Russian operation in several cities of Ukraine aims to “destroy the Ukrainian state, seize its territory by force and establish an occupation”.

“We are building an anti-Putin coalition,” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said after talks with foreign leaders. “The world must compel Russia to peace,” he added.

Kyiv also called on the international community to “act immediately”. “Only united and strong actions can stop the aggression of Ukraine by Vladimir Putin”, can we read again.
