The main announcements of Warcraft Arclight Rumble

Our summary of the main announcements concerning Warcraft Arclight Rumble :

  • The game is very inspired by tower defense, and offers many game modes (pvp, pve, coop)
  • Players can collect heroes of Azeroth to boost their rank
  • The objective is to protect the barracks from enemy attacks, using powers, units and turrets
  • Each action costs energy, which recharges over time

A very inspired tower defense

As one might suspect, Warcraft Arclight Rumble is a Clash Royale in the universe of Warcraft. The goal is to collect units and heroes to evolve, and build a group that will come to help you in the middle of battle. But PvP is not the only game mode here, as more than 70 PvE maps are planned.

There are also weekly raids and dungeons that will strengthen your power over time. But the particularity of the latter is that they can be made in cooperation with other players.

The collection continues to expand

On the monetization side, the developers have remained quite vague for the moment. We know, however, since it is banned in Belgium, that the game contains lootboxes. Whether this is an important mechanic for getting new units, or just a cosmetic aspect, only time will tell. However, the gacha side of the title is a little felt, in particular by the promotion on the Play Store, speaking of “60 figurines and characters of Warcraft to collect”.

According to the first rumors, paying would be a plus but would have no interest. A person who may have touched the alpha at Gamespot ensures that all units can be obtained by playing. Paying would be a way to go faster, while unlocking skins along the way.

Basic gameplay

The objective of the game is simple: destroy the opposing base. For this, players can evolve on two front lines with their units, in order to get rid of the turrets first, then the barracks. But each action costs energy, which is gradually restored over time. The objective is therefore to use its energy wisely to summon units or use spells to help those present.

Our general opinion on the presentation

The style of play having leaked for some time already, the surprise was not present. Especially with the confirmation via the Play Store 15 minutes before the official announcement. However, there is no doubt that this game will please. It’s clearly not intended for long-time Blizzard fans, but will attract a new audience to this universe.

So that’s it for our summary of all the announcements concerning Warcraft Arclight Rumblethe next mobile title from Blizzard.
