We all know it: Again and again we come across tips on how we can supposedly hide our curves with tricks in order to achieve almost model dimensions. But that is a thing of the past! In the fashion world, women are increasingly recognized as individuals in all their forms. Some designers are already using curvy models for international catwalks. We celebrate the diversity of all body shapes and encourage you to get to know and appreciate your own body!

If you’re complaining about feeling uncomfortable in the outfits you choose, it could be due to three styling mistakes that are making your curves look unflattering. We’ll show you what things you should pay particular attention to and how you can avoid them. So you can now pay attention to it and leave the house without any worries. It’s always a rewarding experience to try things out and listen to your gut feeling!

Clothing with side cut-outs

In summer, many of us want to show skin, and we like to do so with playful cut-out details on our outfits. Cut-outs are particularly popular this year and dominate many catwalk looks. But some of us still feel insecure when it comes to wearing eye-catching “eye-catchers” when it comes to curves. Many people fear that this will unflatteringly emphasize their body, especially at rib or waist level. Our recommendation: Instead, opt for favorite pieces with cut-outs between the chest and belly button. This way we can show skin and still look sexy!

An alternative: Slits between the belly button and chest are also a fantastic alternative to side cut-outs as they leave a triangle of skin exposed.

Chunky boots are often underestimated flaws in the look

Did you think so? We often make a big mistake with our choice of shoes and walk around on the street like fools. No? – Yes, chunky boots in particular can mess up our looks. While chunky soles and padded straps are trendy, the combination can make our legs appear squashed and the silhouette appears particularly unflattering.

An alternative: A straightforward solution is to choose shoes with pointed toes. For boots as well as ballerinas or pumps, pointed caps immediately give a more delicate look and stretch our legs a lot, without the need for a heel.

Oversized clothing

We often tend to think of generously cut dresses as simple “figure flatterers,” especially those that have an A-line shape from the bust down. But this is often where a styling mistake lies. The problem is that oversized dresses do not emphasize the beautiful curves, but rather cover them up, which can make the body appear bulky.

An alternative: Opt for dresses that have ruffles or a belt at the waist. This highlights your chest, emphasizes your core and automatically makes your legs appear longer. By the way, matching accessories can also wonderfully enhance the oversized dresses you already have in your closet!
