The pool of potential victims is too big not to take advantage of it; crooks of all kinds have understood this.
The creation of a paid ChatGPT Plus subscription giving unrestricted access to the chatbot, which provided an opportunity for hackers. Indeed, OpenAI offers to pay $20 per month to consult its AI without limitation. Cyberhackers know that some Internet users will always seek to pay less, and preferably not at all, for such a service. They therefore create fake ChatGPT Plus free access offers.

To download the client allowing them to access ChatGPT Plus for free, users must enter their personal information. Of course, the offer is bogus, and the software is malware. A named security researcher first discovered a fraudulent website using OpenAI notoriety. The ChatGPT client for Windows available on this domain is actually a fork of Redline, a program used to steal passwords and bank details, and even the contents of users’ clipboards.
He found advertisements for such sites on Facebook, but he also discovered not far from 50 Malicious Apps on Google Play Store. Applications or websites use the same color codes and the same logos as OpenAI to trick Internet users into using malware. So be wary if you come across this kind of offer.
