Warranty frustration – Fust branch refuses to repair Fitbit watch – News

Despite a valid warranty certificate from Fust, the customer should contact the manufacturer Fitbit directly for the repair.

Frustration with Fust: An “espresso” listener experienced this a few weeks ago when she wanted to bring back a Fitbit watch. The display of the fitness tracker, which measures heart rate or records sleep phases, among other things, came loose after just six months.

So the listener went to the Fust branch and wanted to bring the watch back – after all, there is a two-year guarantee in Switzerland. But the seller didn’t accept the device: “He said Fust wouldn’t take back Fitbit watches, I had to contact the manufacturer directly.” The fact that, according to the receipt, the guarantee runs through Fust, they didn’t want to know anything in the store: “The seller said it was all useless, I had to contact Fitbit directly.”

Guarantee frustration with Fitbit watches already in 2021

A little less than a year ago, “Espresso” reported about warranty frustration with Fitbit watches. At that time it was about Migros shops or Melectronics. The Migros media spokesman explained at the time that Melectronics was fulfilling its guarantee obligation and that customers could return their Fitbit watch to a Migros store.

And what about the Coop subsidiary Fust? The company writes on request: “Our customers can of course also take Fitbit watches to a Fust point of sale for repair in the event of a guarantee. We then send the item directly to the manufacturer for inspection.» Nevertheless, the “espresso” listener literally spoke against a wall in her Fust branch. She then actually contacted Fitbit directly and received a new watch after a few weeks. “It’s over for me now,” she says. But customer-friendly is different.
