“I miss their hugs”: With these words, actor Warwick Davis says goodbye to his late wife Samantha.

The “Star Wars” and “Harry Potter” actor Warwick Davis (54) mourns the loss of his wife Samantha Davis. The actor announced this in a statement, which is available to the BBC, among others. She was only 53 years old and died on March 24th. In his statement, he praised his wife as his “favorite person.” Her death left a big gap in his life. “I miss her hugs,” Davis said in it.

She was his most loyal confidant and an ardent supporter in everything he did in his career. “She was a unique character, always saw the bright side of life, had a wicked sense of humor and laughed at my bad jokes,” Davis continued. Their children also echoed their father’s comments and also wrote about their late mother: “Her love and happiness have carried us through our entire lives.” She was not only a mother, but also her best friend.

Warwick Davis founded charity with his wife

The two met on the set while filming the film “Willow” in 1988, in which Samantha also appeared as an actress in a small supporting role. The two married around three years later. The two have a total of three children together. Daughter Annabelle Davis (27) followed in her parents’ footsteps and also became an actress. She plays a recurring role in the CBBC series “The Dumping Ground”, among others.

Together with his wife, Warwick Davis founded the charity Little People UK in 2021, which addresses the needs of people with small heights. Warwick Davis himself is just over a meter tall. His wife Samantha was also short in stature, measuring only 1.24 meters.

Warwick’s most famous roles were that of Professor Flitwick and the goblin Griphook in the “Harry Potter” films. He also appeared in films such as “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy”, “Gulliver’s Travels” and “Ray”. He celebrated his breakthrough as Ewok Wicket in the “Star Wars” film “Return of the Jedi.” He also repeatedly took on roles in later “Star Wars” episodes, but was sometimes no longer mentioned in the credits. Nevertheless, Davis is still considered one of the busiest and most famous actors of short stature in the industry.
