Warzone 2.0: Proximity chat, how to activate/deactivate it?


The local chat is a new feature available on the battle royale from Activision and Infinity Ward, Warzone 2.0. In a way, this option can be interesting, because, when activated, it allows you to hear opponents’ communications, when you are close to them. Nevertheless, it could displease some players.

Thus, in this dedicated guide, we explain to you how to enable and disable proximity chat in Warzone 2.0.

Enable and Disable Proximity Chat in Warzone 2.0

Activate/deactivate proximity chaton Warzone 2.0, is actually not difficult. Moreover, this manipulation should not take you much time, because it is done in just a few clicks. But, without further ado, here’s how to enable or disable this option:

  • Launch Warzone 2.0, from the Battle.net launcher, Steam or from your console.
  • Once you are in the lobby (main menu of the game), click on the gear symbol, located at the top right of your screen (near your level), to go to the Settings.
    • If you are on PC, you can use the F3 shortcut.
  • Then click on “Audio”
    • Or on “Quick settings”, then on “Audio” in the bar on the left.
  • Scroll down until you see “Vocal Chat” appear.
  • In the list on your screen, you will see “Proximity Chat”.
  • All you have to do is click on “With” or “Without”, depending on your choice.
    • “On” means proximity chat is enabled.
    • “Off” indicates proximity chat is disabled.
