Warzone 2: The new inventory and armor system leaked

According to a new leak, Warzone 2 is set to bring major changes to the armor and loot system that look very similar to what can be found in Apex Legends and Escape from Tarkov.

With so many Battle Royales on the market, it is common to see certain features of some being transcribed into other games.

And with the upcoming release of Warzone 2 which will be a brand new sequel to the already existing Battle Royale, this new game will give developers the ability to revamp tried and tested systems while keeping the same framework intact.

Even if the release of this sequel seems for the moment scheduled for March 2023, many leaks have already started to emerge.

And recently, famed leaker Tom Henderson revealed that Warzone 2 is set to feature a new armor and loot system that takes direct inspiration from Apex Legends.

Blackout was Call of Duty’s first attempt at the Battle Royale genre.

Warzone 2 should feature a new inventory and loot system

While Tom Henderson has gone into detail about a variety of different topics regarding new features that are set to arrive in Warzone 2, one such topic announces the return of Armor Vests as loot, which will work the same as those that were. existing in Blackout.

In Blackout, players could pick up armor vests from the ground at different levels on the map that offered increasingly higher protection based on level.

However, Tom Henderson clarifies that this new armor system appears to be a hybrid of Warzone’s armor plate system and Blackout’s armor vests.

According to him, players will need to find armor vests in multiple tiers before they can equip armor plates.

Players will then be able to equip more armor plates with the higher tier armors, but will need to replenish them when they break, like in Warzone.

The new bag system of Warzone 2 would be heavily inspired by the system of Escape from Tarkov.

Warzone 2 should introduce a bag system

This recent leak also hints at a new bag system that should be coming to Warzone 2.

This bag system should work like the other inventory systems of some Battle Royales, although it is particularly reminiscent of that of Escape from Tarkov on a few key points.

Similar to Tarkov, players should be able to add items such as ammo, weapons, and killstreaks to their bag, provided they have space.

Bag levels can be upgraded to provide players with more inventories, as different items will take up different amounts of space.

For example, a killstreak might take up a 2 by 2 space on the inventory grid, while a sniper rifle might take up a 2 by 4 space.

While it remains to be seen if these leaks are accurate, if such changes were to occur then the formula for Warzone 2 would see an unprecedented upheaval.
