Warzone players claim cheaters are coming back

Warzone players claim the battle royale saw a “sharp increase” in cheaters after Season 3 Reloaded, despite the RICOCHET anti-cheat still being in place.

While Warzone has undeniably been a major success for Activision, it has struggled to root out cheating and hacking as decisively as necessary.

The RICOCHET anti-cheat system was implemented in December 2021 and while most players agree that it has improved considerably since then, they also agree that there is still a long way to go.

In particular, a number of players have criticized the situation after the Season 3 Reloaded update, saying that the prevalence of cheaters has gotten significantly worse.

Cheaters have always been present in Warzone.

A new upsurge of cheaters on Warzone?

One player, ‘LeonardMH’, asked what could be the cause of the recent increase in cheaters, claiming to have encountered more hackers in recent games.

“Has anyone else noticed a big increase in cheaters lately? In the last 2-3 days I’ve only played a few games and in about half of them I’ve died due to obvious cheaters. I haven’t seen this kind of problem since Verdansk, what’s going on?

Another, “ruizroy6”agreed that they are becoming more and more common. “The game is full of cheaters once again. There is no other option but to stop playing this game. Encountered more than 5 cheaters in 5 different games and we had to stop after the last one. Not funny.”

Many gamers echoed these comments, suggesting that RICOCHET needs to do more, and that Activision needs to stay vigilant to make sure cheaters don’t remain as plentiful in the future.

The number of cheaters has had its ups and downs in the past, so let’s hope the pattern repeats itself as soon as possible.
