Warzone Players Lament Season 4

Warzone players say the frequent meta changes, like those that happened recently with Season 4, make the game “incredibly difficult” for casual players, especially considering SBMM.

Warzone Season 4, as has become the norm in Call of Duty battle royale, was a pretty complete meta shake-up. Weapons have been upgraded and nerfed, bugs have been fixed and we even got a new map, Fortune’s Keep.

While these changes are generally welcomed by the game’s most prominent voices (streamers, pro gamers, and content creators), they seem to frustrate those with less time to invest in Warzone.

Warzone meta changes and new content make the game ‘too hard’ for players

In a July 15 Reddit post, a player stated that due to other commitments, he cannot invest as much time as he would like in the Warzone.

As a result, the new content, weapons, and maps do nothing but make the game “incredibly difficult” use.

I don’t have time to level up these weapons. I’m playing for the first time since April today and at the start of the game I’m tearing up… But as soon as the loadout drops I’m completely unarmed… It’s really annoying, I would constantly win games on my first day back in 3 months if my best weapons hadn’t been reduced to nothing since the last time I played”.

He was joined by another post from a casual player who echoed much of that sentiment and claimed RE has become “too difficult” due to improvements to engaged players and of matchmaking.

They said : “Warzone is too hard… My hyper competitive shooter days are sadly over… WZ was fun when it was new and different, now it’s just too much for the casual gamer.”

While Call of Duty has long been a casual shooter, many feel that Warzone needs to do more so players who don’t invest a lot of time can still have fun.

This is a tricky course of action, as the best and worst players are an integral part of a game’s community. Hopefully, Raven can strike a better balance in the future.
