After reintroducing drones to the buying stations of Warzone’s Vanguard Royale mode, with a significant price increase, the developers finally reversed their decision. Here’s why.
Drones have always been a must have in Warzone. It must be said that with particularly large maps, which offer multiple hiding places, being able to flush out nearby opponents is a big advantage.
So much so, that after a while the developers felt they had become a little too common in Verdansk, and so they decided to put a stop to it.

While many players were thrilled to see the return of the Vanguard Royale in the March 2 patch notes, along with the return of drones to Buy Stations, their enthusiasm soon died down when they saw that they would be available for $9000 vs $6000 previously, or so it was supposed to be.
Raven Software reconsiders its decision
To everyone’s surprise, Raven Software announced shortly after, in the March 3 patch notes, that they had preferred to backtrack. “After further discussions, our team has decided to reintroduce the drones at their original price of $6,000 in order to adopt a pace of play closer to that of the original design.”
“Once we have collected enough data, we will decide whether or not to proceed with the proposed increase to $9,000”they explained. “Giving Players a fun and consistent long-term experience can sometimes take a bit of short-term experimentation!”.

While some players were happy with the change of pace that the removal of drones from Vanguard Royale’s Buy Stations offered, others were disappointed to see it disappear. Aware of these 2 bells, Raven Software then decided to bet on a “compromise where drones will remain accessible, but less easily exploitable”.
It looks like they’ve given up on that compromise for now, but don’t be surprised if the price of drones increases again in a future update. Given that this is an experiment, the price of drones is far from set in stone.
