Warzone Season 3 will finally shrink the size of the game

Warzone Season 3 has been officially announced, and alongside major changes to Caldera, console players will soon find that the game takes up a lot less space.

With two maps, multiple modes, over 150 weapons, and almost 100 operators, it’s no wonder Warzone now has a massive file size. Also, this game is still tied to Modern Warfare, which means you need to have both games installed on console.

Luckily, while additional content will soon be added to Warzone including new weapons, Caldera map changes, and even an event mixing Godzilla and King Kong, the developers have confirmed that the Season 3 update scheduled for April 27 will reduce Warzone’s file size, but after a larger download than usual.

Since console storage is limited, Warzone players have often had to uninstall other games in order to make room for the latest updates.

Warzone Season 3 should finally relieve console players of the sheer size of the game.

But recently, the Battle Royale developers confirmed that they will be scaling up Modern Warfare’s campaign, multiplayer, and Special Ops DLCs. They explained that once this optimization is done, “the overall game footprint will be reduced for Warzone players.

But players may need to free up space on their storage first, as the developers have confirmed that “these changes will likely cause Warzone and Modern Warfare to download more than usual.”

Here are all the DLC packs you will be able to install or remove after the Season 3 update:

  • Call of Duty: Modern Warfare – Campaign DLC 1
  • Special Ops DLC 1
  • Multiplayer DLC 2
  • Campaign and Special Ops DLC 1
  • Multiplayer and Special Ops DLC 1

At this time, there has been no confirmation of the size of each of these MW DLC packs after the Season 3 update, nor the overall size of Warzone.

However, console gamers should soon realize that Warzone is taking up much less space on their console’s storage than in the past.
