Warzone players are asking for nerfs to long-range weapons as the meta remains dominated by snipers. Spearheaded by the ever-popular Kar98k and K31 Switzerland.
While Warzone’s weapon variety means that a host of weapons have been meta at one time or another, a few weapons have remained consistently popular since their implementation in battle royale.
These are the Kar98k, Modern Warfare’s sniper rifle, and the Swiss K31, which appeared in post-launch Black Ops Cold War content. Both snipers are forgiving in terms of recoil, fast, and perfect for taking out enemies at long range.
However, since they are still among the most used weapons since Season 2 Reloaded sought to shake up the meta, some players are asking Raven to introduce global nerfs for snipers to balance them out.
Snipers have always caused a lot of debate within the Warzone community.
Warzone snipers reignite the debate
The “meme-viewerno” player said on April 16 that he was “tiredness” of the enduring sniper meta and suggested Raven nerf the most powerful weapons in the category to push players towards other classes and playstyles.
“Whether it’s Rebirth or Caldera, if you’re not using a sniper like a Kar98k or a K31, you’re at a huge disadvantage”.
“It’s extremely difficult to win a 1v1 against a sniper if you don’t have one, because it’s a long-range one-shot option.”
They argued that not only can snipers hit enemies at any distance, but they are also far too maneuverable and easy to use.
Many other players echoed the original comment. Although initially popular in Warzone, traditional snipers like the HDR and AX-50 have died out because they are much slower and cumbersome than meta snipers.
