Warzone Update May 4 Patch Note: Weapon Balancing


The new Warzone update has just made fixes to the armored truck as well as some Assault Rifles from Black Ops Cold War in favor of some Vanguard weapons. The complete patch notes.

After the major Warzone Season 3 update, the developers released a new update on May 4 which fixed several ongoing issues including bugs and glitches. Additionally, several popular weapons received buffs and drops.

The main weapon balancing changes of note are nerfs to some Cold War Assault Rifles, as well as buffs to several Vanguard weapons in an effort to make them more competitive throughout Season 3.

Warzone armored truck has been changed

The Warzone armored truck is now much less durable.

Since the launch of Season 3, Warzone players have been quick to report that Armored Trucks are totally ruining single player games due to the new sabotage contract.

These massive vehicles were deemed too powerful due to their turret and impossible to destroy due to their bulk. So this update not only reduced the health of the vehicle, but also the damage dealt by the turret.

Cold War’s AK-47 just got a nerf.

Vanguard weapons have struggled to perform as well as their counterparts since they were introduced to Warzone.” said the developers.

They explain that due to the frequent long-range duels in Caldera, weapons with low max damage ranges were becoming ineffective: “Unfortunately for Vanguard weapons, this was often the case.

As a result, various Cold War Assault Rifles have just been nerfed and on the other side Vanguard Weapons have been upgraded.

Since being introduced to Warzone, Vanguard weapons have struggled to perform as well as their counterparts. This update therefore prepares the ground to solve this problem. Engagement distances have only increased since transitioning to Caldera. More and more skirmishes are taking place in areas of minimum damage. As a result, weapons that have a low maximum damage range or low minimum damage range have become very weak. Unfortunately for Vanguard weapons, this was often the case.
