watch out for these bogus calls from the Banque de France

It all starts with a phone call. Online, a person posing as an agent of the Banque de France, often posing as the fraud service, notes the central bank. The latter then makes his interlocutor believe that fraudulent operations are in progress, and that the customer must log in to his personal space of the bank in order to cancel them. In doing so, the victim ultimately finds himself validating operations for the benefit of the riffraff.

If the process is particularly well done, it is because the crooks manage to display, on the screen of the contacted person’s telephone, the real Banque de France number and that they hold personal information of their victimin particular his bank details, explains the Banque de France.

How not to be fooled? The institution recalls that the Banque de France never requests the communication of bank details, personal information or the validation/cancellation of a banking transaction.

The Banque de France recalls that your bank must refund the amount debited. In case of disagreement, the burden of proof lies with the bank. To refuse to reimburse you, the bank must demonstrate that you have been particularly negligent in keeping your bank details.
