Product recalls are commonplace in our supermarkets. They intervene, for example, after a labeling error, an inconclusive hygiene and quality control or the detection of a bacterium. So many scenarios that sometimes emerge within the confines of production plants and which can sometimes have serious consequences for consumers. A threat all the greater when it comes to food products that are the subject of an anomaly. Indeed, it can happen that traces of a bacterium are detected in food, which constitutes a risk for the health of the person who consumes it.
Listeria, Salmonella, E.Coli, the list of bacteria that have already been detected in our food is long. If swallowed, the consequences can be dramatic. In the best-case scenario, the consumer can get away with indigestion and stomach pains. But ingesting a contaminated product can also have the effect of generating more serious food poisoning in the body. A situation that can lead to hospitalization of the victim and in some cases death.

Fortunately, a product recall is not always synonymous with the presence of bacteria in the food concerned. Indeed, it can sometimes be a labeling error of the expiry date (DLC). This is in particular the reason which leads today the reminder of this tray of vegetal and gourmet nuggets from the brand happy vore. This 210 gram tray has been the subject of a “DLC marking error indicated on 04/28/2023 for a product on 02/28/2023”. If you have already purchased these items, you must not consume them beyond February 28, 2023. This is their original expiration date.
The government site dedicated to recalls of consumer products suggests that consumers who have purchased this item to return it to the store or destroy it. Of course, if you are in possession of these plant-based nuggets, you can still consume them before the true expiry date of February 28, 2023. If you decide to return it, the supermarket in which you obtained the article is under the obligation to proceed with a reimbursement of the product which is currently the subject of a recall campaign. The latter ends on March 3.
