A new product recall has been announced. Watch out for this sandwich sold at Monoprix!
As often, the government platform itself launched the alert. You should know that product recalls are quite commons. Sometimes it can be quite serious and worrying. As was the case for example for Ferrero and the recall of its chocolates after detection of an outbreak of cases of salmonellosis in many European countries. The famous brand has also ended by admitting that she had “internal failings”. This product recall had all the same caused a big panic in France and elsewhere.
Sometimes these are less serious cases, but they can still have consequences for the consumer. The latest product recall concerns a sandwich on sale at Monoprix. This recall was issued voluntarily by the major distributor and therefore concerns the Monoprix Emmental Ham Baguette. Sandwiches offered for sale and whose use-by date is set between 05/16/2022 and 05/21/2022 must be returned to the store. What is the problem with this product and what if we already have it in our fridge?
Product recall: Emmental Ham Baguette returned to the factory
Monoprix Emmental Ham Baguettes have therefore been recalled following the detection of a labeling defect which does not mention the presence of sesame in the sandwich. The risk for the consumer may be high if this last is allergic to sesame. The government recommends that you no longer consume this product, bring it back to the point of sale if it has not yet been consumed or simply destroy it. For those who still have their sandwich, know that you can bring it back to the store, you will then be refunded. This omission on the label is therefore at the origin of this product recall. Those allergic to sesame may indeed suffer from it. Among the symptoms detected: hot flushes in the face, hives or rashes. Redness and itching of the skin are also signs that you may be allergic to this product. Finally, swelling of the eyes, face, lips, throat and tongue are worrying symptoms that can be life-threatening.
