Waze becomes a partner of the Tour de France to facilitate your travels during the event

Amaury Sport Organization (ASO), the organizing company of the Tour de France, has entered into a partnership with Waze for the next three years. This is intended to facilitate the movement of motorists during the competition.

In a press release dated June 27, 2022, the Tour de France announces that it has entered into a partnership with the Waze app to “accompanying the movements of its spectators”. Note that this agreement also concerns the Tour de France Women with Zwift.

On race days, the traffic around the stage towns is quickly saturated. Indeed, a gentle mix of blocked roads, traffic jams, motorhome maneuvers and delirious crowds quickly makes traffic hellish. This is undoubtedly what motivated the organizers of the “big loop” to link up with Waze in order to help motorists circulate around the event. The mobile application will integrate the route of the lap, but also all the data related to the race. Objective, “reduce parking and traffic problems”.

“Throughout the Tour de France and the Tour de France Women with Zwift, Waze’s mapping will show the 4000 km of closed roads, start and finish lines, parking lots and live traffic speeds, in order to so that drivers can find their way around and be better informed about event traffic”the statement said.

Practical travel information for each stage of the Tour de France was already available on the official website.
