WDR: "Muspilli" and "Nine Thing" will be continued

The WDR series challenge is over – with two winners. The broadcaster will continue to produce both "Muspilli" and "Cleaner".

The WDR had called for the series challenge a good two weeks ago. The pilot episodes of the short series "Muspilli" and "Sa Brille" were available. The winner should receive a full season. Almost 24,000 votes were cast in online voting, as the broadcaster announced. The result: Both candidates received almost the same amount of support. Now both series should go into production.

"I am very pleased that, thanks to the positive response, we are placing a development contract with two producers," said WDR TV film director Alexander Bickel. André Erkau (52) wrote the screenplay for "A Clean Thing" and Michael Gantenberg (59) wrote the script. Nahuel Lopez (42) directed "Muspilli". The script came from Nahuel Lopez, Lars Lindigkeit and Oliver Keidel.

That's what the two series are about

Juri (Ben Münchow, 30) and Paula (Cristina do Rego, 34) play the leading roles in "A clean thing". Both characters are in their late twenties and like to philosophize in the laundromat about everyday life and love. When a mysterious woman asks the two of them to take care of their parcel for a moment, the story takes off.

"Muspilli" takes a look at two people with mental disorders. Lea (Josefine Preuß, 34), single mother of a five-year-old daughter, is bipolar and looking for a partner. This is also Ove (Tristan Seith, 40). The conspiracy theorist, in his early 40s, has never had a lasting relationship. A friend couples the two of them and Lea invites Ove to dinner for her first date – but the evening ends in a catastrophe.
