we already have a release window for the series and it’s not right away

Since the first rumors surrounding the adaptation of Harry Potter into a television series, fans have been impatiently waiting to know when it will be broadcast. Unfortunately, it seems that the news is not good on this front. During an internal meeting, David Zaslav, CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery, said that the series will not be available until 2026.

We clearly haven’t heard the last of Harry Potter. While the last book was released 17 years ago and the last film 13 years ago, the saga continues to live on through a play, video games and soon a television series. It was in April 2023 that this new project began to make headlines, via a rumor announcing one season per volume. Warner Bros. Discovery finally confirmed the news a few days later, specifying that the series will be available on HBO Max.

But since then, radio silence. No leak or official information has come to give food for thought to fans who are waiting to see what this reboot will bring. It was finally during an internal meeting that the CEO of Warner Bros. Discovery first delivered a release window for the project. Let’s say you have time to reread all the books and watch all the movies before this one.

The Harry Potter series won’t arrive until 2026

Indeed, it seems that this reboot will arrive in 2026 at the earliest. “We have never hidden our enthusiasm for Harry Potter. The last film was made over a dozen years ago,” declared David Zaslav, CEO of Warner Bros Discovery to his shareholders, before adding that his teams hope for a release in 2026.

So it’s not even yet guaranteed that the first season will be released within two years. Everything suggests that the project is still in its early stages. Given the pressure surrounding the reboot, it’s easy to imagine that production will take its time to avoid disappointing fans. Seeing the success of Hogwart’s Legacy, we’re not too worried about that.
