For three years, Yvan Attal’s companion followed her mother in her daily life, her travels and her rounds, before taking her to rue de Verneuil, the former home of Serge Gainbourg. But this very personal film is also a dive into a mother-daughter relationship which has not always been easy, Charlotte Gainsbourg even noting last July: “As strange as it may sound, the loss of my father didn’t bring us together at all“.
