We finally know the date of presentation of the Polestar 3, and it’s for this year

Polestar has officially confirmed it, its new electric SUV will be revealed to the general public next October.

It was starting to be long overdue, and now we finally know a little more about it, as Polestar has officially announced the date of the reveal of its very first electric SUV. A very promising newcomer for the firm, which currently only offers sedans in its catalog. A strategy that may also seem surprising given the success of SUVs.

As we know, it is above all the raised models that have been popular for a few years, while almost all manufacturers have at least one in their range. This will therefore soon be the case for the Swedish brand, having as a reminder taken its independence from Volvo in 2018. If we still knew enough about it, Polestar is giving us new information, including its date of official revelation. .

See you in October

Announced by a teaser published last year, the new Polestar 3 will therefore be formalized during the month of October, as confirmed by the Scandinavian brand. The first deliveries should begin at the beginning of next year. Made in the United States, the electric SUV should unfortunately not be sold in France, due to the conflict which still opposes Polestar to Citroën.

For now, we still know very little about this vehicle, but it promises to be a dynamic model, both in terms of look and road behavior. Several versions will be offered, with one or two electric motors, while the model will be equipped with a LIDAR, allowing it to take advantage of semi-autonomous driving on the highway in particular.

More models to come

Today, the Polestar range already has two models, namely the Polestar 1, a plug-in hybrid sedan, and the 100% electric Polestar 2, a direct rival to the Tesla Model 3. If the catalog is about to expand with the Trendy SUV, the Swedish firm does not intend to stop there. Indeed, it plans to present the Polestar 4 next year.

This should then take the form of a compact SUV, which would hunt on the land of the Tesla Model Y. Later, during the year 2024, it will be the turn of the Polestar 5 to see the light of day. This time it will be a four-door GT, as our colleagues from Carscoops point out.
