We finally know the launch date of Threads in Europe, but not yet the countries that will have access to it

At the very beginning of summer, Meta launched its brand new Threads application. A brand new social network largely inspired by Twitter/X.com, which quickly attracted more than 100 million users, before losing interest. In the coming days, the application will arrive in Europe, but is it really able to compete with Elon Musk’s social network which is so criticized, but which no one manages to leave?

Threads on December 14 in Europe

So, a few days ago, we learned that the launch of Threads in Europe seemed imminent. Today, the Threads website displays an astonishing countdown, available only in countries… where the application is not available.

Everything suggests that the countdown indicates the launch date of Threads in Europe, with a release date set for December 14. Information confirmed directly on Instagram, since by entering “ticket” in the search field, the application allows you to activate a reminder which leaves no room for doubt.

An appointment is made for December 14, to (re)discover a brand new social network like Twitter. Remember that due to the European Union’s personal data protection rules, the Threads application was not launched in Europe at the beginning of last summer.

Its official appearance on the old continent could allow it to glean 40 million additional users.
