Motorola is not giving up on its ambitions in the market for folding smartphones and is about to launch a Razr 3 that improves on the formula of its predecessors.

A small design revolution
The first two versions of the Motorola Razr revival did not prove very convincing, notably paled against its main competitor, Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip. We therefore necessarily expect essential improvements for the brand’s new flip-style foldable screen smartphone. Reputable leaker Evan Blass posted photos and information about the technical specifications of the device on 91mobiles.
The first important element to remember is a significant design change. The Motorola Razr 3 indeed loses its broad and thick chin which made its particularity, as well on the old Razr as on the last folding mobiles. This space was rather useless and lengthened the size of the smartphone, it will be removed. We then approach the lines of the Galaxy Z Flip range.
Motorola has also reviewed the location of the fingerprint reader: placed on the chin on the first model and on the back on the second, it moves here to the power button, which seems to be a better choice in terms of practicality. for the user.
A Razr 3 Plus in development?
The Motorola Razr 3 would be equipped with a Full HD+ interior display with a punch-hole to house the 32 MP front camera. At the rear, two photo sensors are expected: a main module of 50 MP and f / 1.8 aperture and a 13 MP lens supporting both ultra wide-angle and macro photography, which is quite unusual.
The smartphone would be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC, but a Razr 3 Plus would be entitled to an even more powerful chip. The source does not specify the identity of this one, but we can imagine that it will be the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1+. The terminal will be able to offer up to 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage for the most high-end configuration.
The marketing of the Motorola Razr 3 would be launched at the end of July or the beginning of August in China, before an international release a little later. The price has not leaked, but the manufacturer will have to make efforts to impose its product: the first two iterations of the foldable Razr were far too expensive.
