/ Culture / Music / Julien Doré: We listened to his album "Aimée" and we didn't expect that at all

Julien Doré is releasing his fifth album this Friday, September 4 … Finally! After three years of absence, he reveals Aimée. In a different tone but his own, the singer surprises once again.

Lovedis the title of Julien Doré's new album. If he chose this first name to name this new record, it is because it is his grandmother's. With nameless delicacy, the singer pays tribute to one of the women who inspired him during his life. When his first single " Fever " came out and the clip wowed everyone, Julien Doré remained discreet about his intentions. It seems he preferred to let the fans interpret in their own way this song and this very visual clip, produced in collaboration with Brice VDH. Then, a remixed version of the hit came sometime later: “The Fever. " At the exit of the clip, he announces that the rights of the clip and the remix are entirely donated to the Women's Foundation. He explains on Twitter, speaking to the association: “My grandmother Aimée fought all her life for women's rights, my mother, Aimée too, for years to welcome and protect battered women. Today, like them, you continue to save lives. I am nothing other than an imprinted witness. Thank you "

The themes seem given. With his own humility, Julien Doré, at his own level, supports causes close to his heart. The rest of the album is in this line. The singer exposes his feelings in the face of the chaos in which we live today and it goes even further than themes around women. The piece "Barracuda II " is simply beautiful and touching: accompanied by a children's choir, Julien Doré sings: "Even if your anger is sweating, don't take yourself for Barracuda." A sweet song to start the new school year but from which it emanates an incredibly touching rage and melancholy: "Don't say it's your fault, men don't apologize." With this ballad, we recognize the style of Julien Doré.

But this does not mean that it has not been renewed, quite the contrary. As with every new album, we discover a little more about the artist, because he reveals influences that we had never guessed before. There is tangy pop in some of the songs. We are surprised by the synth notes of his duet with Clara Luciani. "The island overnight " subtly mixes their two voices while "Blah-blah-blah" is a unique and unique collaboration with Caballero and JeanJass. Next to that, "Kiki" reveals the vulnerable singer, more sincere than ever: "All this hangs by a thread that has been unwound badly. You know, it's the shame that serves me as paper. I decided your grave before even rocking you" as if to address the next generations and the terrible legacy that awaits them on the world. All this is without counting "Friend" which pays homage to the dead with a lot of poetry.

Julien Doré is more frontal with the album Loved. Without filter, without metaphor, it exposes a vision of the world melancholic, authentic and touching. We hope for guaranteed success for this new nugget of the artist who is always inspired, sincere and humble.
