“we lost everything overnight”, the day Maxime found himself homeless

This Tuesday, April 2, it was Maxime who left Koh Lanta. He spoke to us about this elimination and revealed that he didn’t have an easy childhood. He found himself on the street with his mother overnight.

Koh Lanta: immunity hunters has been broadcast on TF1 since February 13, 2024. Viewers find presenter Denis Brogniart and their favorite adventurers every Tuesday evening. This year, the candidates are divided into two teams: the yellow ones aka the Kadasis and the red ones also called the Matukad. Every week, an adventurer is eliminated. Steve, Alicia, Nathalie, William, Alexis, Emilie and Sarah have already left the adventure. Lately It was Maxime, from the red team, who had to extinguish his torch.

He was eliminated by his team who no longer had confidence in him, in fact, he had confided in Jean about the rest of the adventure and his words had been repeated. Neither one nor two, almost his entire team turned against him and since he did not find an immunity necklace, it was he who had to leave the adventure. He confided in us on this subject and made several revelations about his personal life. He had a complicated childhood.

You admitted to having made a mistake in Koh Lanta, if you could go back, what would you have changed?

I wouldn’t have said that to Jean, I would have exposed myself less.

Aufeminin: Do you blame Jean for repeating your words?

Maxime: Obviously a little bit. Jean and I talked often, we talked about what we did, who we were, our lives, quite personal things. Jean took in my words because he liked what I was doing, I was quite confident with him and I didn’t think that by telling him this, he would immediately repeat it to the others. When I spoke to him about this it was to see how we could move forward together. The idea was that we could have a group and go as far as possible. I shouldn’t have told him my strategy, I wasn’t the best at it. He was better than me, he gave me a little kick in the back. He played well because I go out, he stays and the others say thank you.

Aufeminin: How did you feel losing the confidence of the Reds?

Maxime: For me, the confidence of the reds was not the most important thing. The problem was rather leaving the adventure. There was never any trust. Koh Lanta is a game where on Monday we are allies but once we have lost we have to eliminate each other. We only trust people with whom we get along well. I trusted Jean who betrayed me. I also had confidence in Léa and Julie. What shocked me the most was the opportunism of Jean and the others. I call it setting a trap. When you preach the false in order to know the truth, it is because you are setting a trap for someone.

Aufeminin: You seemed upset with David during the council, why exactly?

Maxime: It’s because I had to find a common denominator to vote against a person who could achieve unanimous support. David is the one who had the worst performances in the events and he could therefore, in this sense, be designated during the eliminations if we refer to the performances. But, deep down, I like David, I didn’t particularly clash with him except at the council. As I said, when he speaks insulting to everyone he hurts people. He’s been using particular vocabulary from the start, he’s already called someone a skull. But it didn’t shock me that much.

Aufeminin: How long did it take you to digest this elimination?

Maxime: It was quick because I knew what awaited me. But what hurt me was that Jean didn’t contact me, we didn’t have any discussions after the game, that hurt me a little. We never talked about it together again. That’s what was harder to digest.

Aufeminin: How was the atmosphere in the Red camp?

Maxime: We didn’t spend our time arguing. But, it’s true that there are affinities that are created. With Cécile I did not succeed in creating the right affinities.

Aufeminin: Who do you think should win the show?

Maxime: I have four first names that come to mind: Léa, Jean, David and Sébastien. Léa because she was the one who arrived later and we got along well, Jean because he really fooled me, David because I liked the character and Sébastien because he is really strong, it really raised the level of the yellows.

Aufeminin: Have you stayed in contact with certain adventurers?

Maxime: I talk a lot with Léa, with Megane and with Emilie. On the yellow side, I talk quite a bit with Aurélien, we also talk with Amri, with Sébastien and with Alexis.

Aufeminin: Apart from what we have seen on TV, how would you describe yourself?

Maxime: It’s true that on TV I’m shown as being the strategist but in reality I’m someone a little more complicated than that. I would describe myself as a slave in life, I had a complicated childhood and now I do everything so that my children have points of reference and that they are proud of their dad. Me, my father wasn’t necessarily there, the father who raised me killed himself in the Himalayas, my mother went bankrupt, we lost everything overnight, we were kicked out , we became homeless. I had a childhood that wasn’t necessarily the best. I myself am ultra dyslexic and color blind, I don’t see any color. The mold is not perfect.

Aufeminin: Are you proud of your journey with your children?

Maxime: I was keen to show my children that when you want you can and I wanted to show the fact that I manage to do good and recognized things. That’s why I signed up for Koh Lanta. But, it’s not really me who’s proud, it’s them who are. Me, I’m rather discreet and my greatest pride is when my daughter writes me little messages telling me that she is proud of her dad, that she pastes images that she finds on the right or left and that she tells the fabulous stories of her dad in Koh Lanta. I find it great and it fills me with happiness, I tell myself that I have succeeded in everything.
