INTERVIEW – After being personally affected by the disease last year, the chairman of the management board of the communication group is launching a global initiative in Davos to raise awareness among companies.
On the occasion of the Davos Economic Forum, Publicis Groupe is launching a major global initiative this Tuesday “Working with Cancer” to federate companies in the fight against cancer. Arthur Sadoun, the chairman of the executive board of the French communication group (Publicis, Leo Burnett, Saatchi & Saatchi, Starcom or Zenith), confided in the Figaro.
FIGARO. – You were personally touched by cancer last year. Did going through this ordeal inspire you?
ARTHUR SADUN. – It was by making my cancer public that I opened my eyes to a reality that I did not know: half of the people affected by this disease are afraid to talk about it to their employer. As head of a group listed on the CAC40, I felt compelled to reveal my cancer, in a duty of transparency vis-à-vis Publicis employees, our clients and shareholders.
