Three days before the first round of the presidential election, Jean Lassalle continues his campaign in his tour bus bearing his image. The president of the Resist! is sounding the alarm about the country’s democratic issues. Its director Dalila Berbagui speaks at the microphone of Europe 1.
Sunday, April 10 will take place the first round of the presidential election. Among the 12 candidates in the running, Jean Lassalle with his Résistons movement!, who is completing his tour through France with his campaign bus. Among the main lines of the shepherd’s proposals, “listen to all the French to bring their word to the heart of our institutions”.
Dalila Berbagui has been director of Jean Lassalle’s political movement since September 2019. She denounces the country’s democratic fatigue. “Our institutions obviously need to be reformed,” said Dalila Berbagui. “Jean Lassalle often uses the expression that the National Assembly has become a theater of shadows, that is to say that everything is already decided in the presidential election. Then, we have a presidential majority which emerges, whereas to be this time, it will not be the case because it is a very particular context.
She still believes: “The outgoing president will certainly not have a presidential majority, unless it is Jean Lassalle who is elected. And that would change a lot of things.”
And to progress on the democratic level, she believes that reforms are necessary. “For example, we have the citizens’ initiative referendum, which allows citizens to contribute and participate more in democratic debate and political life,” said Jean Lassalle’s right-hand man. “The blank vote should really be recognized as being a vote cast and not just counted.”
