Not entirely without reason: The founder, Illia Polosukhin, worked at Google from 2014 to 2017 and helped with the breakthrough in research for large language models such as ChatGPT. The name Near refers to the transhumanists’ motto: “The Singularity is near” – the time when humans and machines live together is near.
