We tested for you … a home sports class!

With the start of the school year, you were probably motivated to get back to your sports habits. Unfortunately, the closure of sports venues announced by Olivier Véran, the Minister of Solidarity and Health, has just upset all your good resolutions to regularly practice physical activity. We have then tested for you a home sports course from the Mavvel online platform. Here's what we thought …

You'd think the home sport would end when the lockdown was over. But nay! On the other hand, you can still go out and go for a run, but with the rain that won't stop and the cold coming, staying at home feels a lot more comfortable.

We will not yet summarize all the benefits that practicing physical activity brings to you. Providing a feeling of well-being, reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease, relieving stress… In short, to keep fit (and morale), nothing like sport!

Mavvel: an online platform for all tastes

The new Mavvel platform offers you original programs mainly oriented towards sport, but not only! Mavvel also offers cooking, make-up, piloting, tarot lessons … and all presented by influencers and public figures.

The most motivated of you might be interested in the "High Intensity" program led by Valentin Leonard with muscle building, cardio and full body. A program rather intended for experienced athletes who would like to work their muscles in depth. However, if you prefer to go more smoothly, but still tone up, the program called “Origin” seems ideal.

You can also vary the pleasures by trying a pole dance class with Marie Moulin, the French champion, a dance class with the star dancer of Dance with the Stars, Anthony Colette that you can test with your other half …

How are sports classes organized?

For € 39, you will have access to the "Origin" program hosted by Koh-Lanta 2019 finalist Cindy Poumeyrol, with very comprehensive sessions that include warm-up and stretching. 2 difficulty levels are available, ideal for starting out and then progressing little by little.

"Origin" lasts 4 weeks (actually 8 if you upgrade to level 2) with daily sessions of around 30 minutes from Monday to Friday. This program is suitable for beginners who would like to get back in shape and see their performance improve. We appreciate its very educational side, which makes your session more dynamic, especially if, as a general rule, you are the type to be allergic to sport!

The program comes with a downloadable guide that includes recipes, tips for improving your diet, nutritional advice and more details on the sessions.

When it comes to exercises, Cindy relies on squats, lunges (and her distant cousin the Bulgarian lunges), planks, crunches, ribs … Perfect to work all the muscles of the body!

Intensity level, the exercises require light to moderate effort. The rest phases range from 30 seconds to 1 minute, which allows you not to get too tired. Especially if you are doing your sport after a long day at work.

Why choose this course over another?

Because it's fun. Because Cindy is a bubbly personality. Because this program adapts to your abilities and your goals. Because it lasts long enough to get results, and it's short enough not to be time consuming. What you can easily get into sport if you are reluctant to put on your leggings and your bra.

My promise in this program isn't to go from 40 to 36, it's just to get fit and feel great.

What we liked was that we can relate to Cindy. As she explains in her presentation video, “For me, eating is life. I define myself as an epicurean. At the restaurant, I went for a starter-main-dessert and playing sports nearby relieves me of guilt. And we like it. A sports coach who looks like us, who looks like you. Behind the former Koh-Lanta candidate hides a woman like any other and she is proud of it.

Cindy is not the embodiment of the perfect body and she embraces it by recounting her journey: “I took part in Koh-Lanta where I put my body to the test, I lost a lot of weight. On the way back, we celebrated the reunion, I got pregnant. And here I can tell you that I enjoyed it! (laughs) I think I put on 30 kg. A hell of a yo-yo! I gave birth and then I had my marriage 4 months later and so there I got back in shape. I have almost lost all of my pounds. It wasn't easy, but I had one thing: motivation. "
