We were able to get our hands on the Swift 3, Acer’s new affordable Oled laptop

During its Next@Acer conference, the manufacturer revealed to us the revival of its Swift PCs as well as a new model: a Swift 3 with an Oled panel, all for just 1000 €.

Oled screens are definitely becoming more popular in the portable PC segment, in particular thanks to Samsung, which has been producing a lot of 60 and 90 Hz panels for about a year for the various market players. We were able to test it on some Asus Zenbooks and Samsung GalaxyBooks recently. It’s Acer’s turn to join the dance.

A new Swift 3 with Oled panel

During its Next@Acer conference, the manufacturer unveiled a newcomer to its Swift range: the Swift 3 Oled. This model stands out from the other PCs in the series by offering a 14-inch OLED screen with thin borders in 16:10 format offering a definition of 2.8 K (2880 x 1800). He will therefore benefit from the advantages granted by this technology (infinite contrast rate, and response time close to zero in particular).

The Swift 3 Oled offers thin borders.

The brand’s first Swift Oled.

It may be equipped with 12th generation Intel processors in Core i5 or Core i7 H-series, but it is not excluded that Acer will later announce versions with AMD’s Ryzen 6000. The processor will in any case be coupled with 512 GB of SSD and 16 GB of DDR5 RAM. We see that Acer has made efforts on the construction of the PC with Thunderbolt 4 ports, the abandonment of the proprietary charger in favor of USB-C and a large screen occupancy rate, in addition to a Full HD webcam.

The Core i5 model will be offered at a price of €999 and could therefore very well offer good value for money. We will have to wait a little longer before seeing this new Swift land on our shelves, since it will be available from July.
