Netanyahu calls on residents to flee Gaza

After the major attack on Israel by the radical Islamic Hamas from the Gaza Strip, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called on all Palestinians to leave Gaza. The Israeli army will reduce Hamas’ hideouts in Gaza to “rubble,” Netanyahu said in a televised speech that evening. Referring to Gaza, which he described as the “city of evil,” he stressed: “I say to the people of Gaza: leave there now, because we will operate everywhere with all our strength.”
With regard to the Hamas attacks, Netanyahu spoke of a “black day” for his country and the population, for which Israel would “take revenge.” The Israeli army will devote all its strength to “destroying” Hamas’ capabilities. Nevertheless, Netanyahu announced long-term fighting. “This war will take time,” Netanyahu said. “There are still challenging days ahead.”
Netanyahu had previously classified Hamas’ major attack as a “war”: Israel was “not in an operation or in combat, but in a war.” He ordered the “comprehensive mobilization of reservists.” The enemy will “pay an unprecedented price,” assured the Israeli head of government.
Biden: USA “firmly” on Israel’s side
The radical Islamic Hamas launched a new war against Israel in the morning with rocket attacks from the Gaza Strip, and fighters also penetrated Israeli territory from the Gaza Strip. Israel responded with retaliatory attacks on the Gaza Strip. According to preliminary information, a total of more than 300 people were killed and more than 2,000 others injured on both sides within one day.
US President Joe Biden promised the Israelis the unwavering support of the USA. “The United States stands with Israel,” Biden said in a televised statement in the presence of U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken in Washington. US support for Israel is “rock-solid and irrefutable.”
