Google makes it easier to switch smartphones

According to a report by 9to5Google, Wear OS 4 will include a handover function for Android smartwatches. This should make switching to a new smartphone much easier. So far, when you bought a new smartphone, you had to set up your own smartwatch again in order to be able to use it with your cell phone. That shouldn’t be necessary anymore.

With Wear OS 4, a simple transfer to a new device should be possible, which means that you don’t have to set up your smart watch from scratch. You also keep your personalized watch faces, data and settings. It is not yet clear which manufacturers this will work for.
