Weather: a new stormy wave over most of the country

LMonday’s weather will be dominated by a new stormy wave over most of the country, according to Météo-France. The sky will most often remain overcast over Brittany and the Cotentin. Showers and thunderstorms will circulate with a moderate southerly wind.

From Charentes and Vendée to Pays de la Loire, in the Center and the Paris region, to Hauts-de-France, the sky will be chaotic and thunderstorms will break out at the start of the day. Seventy-seven departments are placed on yellow vigilance for thunderstorms by Météo-France in its latest bulletin. Hérault and Gard are on yellow alert for rain-flooding.

Thunderstorms and intense rain

In the afternoon and evening, this stormy weather will strengthen as far as the Grand Est, Burgundy, the Massif Central and Occitanie. Thunderstorms will be strong at times with intense rain, hail and good gusts. New Aquitaine and the South-East will stay away from this disturbance and will generally benefit from a sunny day, with however the risk of scattered rains on the reliefs in the afternoon. Corsica will be sunny.
